ABOUT

I'm a seasoned communications professional with a deep background in television production and communications management. Writing is my life-long love, from which all other good things have followed.

I started out professionally, as so many of us do, as an intern. My experience was a fantastically lucky one, because it was with On the Arts with Laurie Brown (CBC Newsworld). It was there that I learned the ropes of broadcast production from pros like Laurie, Jennifer Baichwal, Ralph Benmergui, Ross Porter and a cadre of talented producers. Indeed, the CBC was the greatest school imaginable.

From there, I ventured over to CTV where I spent the better part of a decade as a promo producer, helping to attract audiences to CTV's number one rated primetime roster of shows.

I then paused my career to study history at Trent University. An unorthodox choice to be sure but take another look at the word and you'll understand my thinking. History is all about the stories of humanity. Learning to expertly research these stories took my already exceptional writing ability to another level. Indeed, I emerged a better researcher, editor, and thinker, which also means I'm a more valuable communicator.

After graduation I joined the Trent Centre for Aging & Society (TCAS) for three years in a communications role. I then worked for one of the largest free-admission music festivals in Canada, Peterborough Musicfest, as the festival's marketing and communications specialist.

Currently, I am the communications coordinator for the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough and I write for kawarthaNOW.com as well as commercial clients.

Big wins:

> Directed Tom Green, and Russell Peters in high profile campaigns for Canada's Walk of Fame, and the Juno Awards.

> Earned a TCAS project a feature story on CBC's The National.

> Won Peterborough Musicfest a highly coveted $80,000 Ontario Trillium Grant (15 other local organizations were turned down).

My work gets results. Please get in touch, and tell me how I can help you achieve your goals.
